Quickstart

For AI agents (Skill)

Give your agent Hako's SKILL.md. It learns discover and inspect, the MCP and CLI connections, and how to pay a run with your PayBox wallet.

The skill is one Markdown file: https://usehako.site/SKILL.md. It tells an agent when to reach for Hako, how to find and read a tool, how to connect through MCP or the npm CLI, and how a run is paid with the user's PayBox wallet.

Install it

Tell your agent:

set up https://usehako.site/SKILL.md

The agent downloads the file and saves it to its skills. To install it yourself in Claude Code:

mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/hako
curl -fsSL https://usehako.site/SKILL.md -o ~/.claude/skills/hako/SKILL.md

What the agent can do with it

Discover and inspect need nothing but HTTP, so the agent can use them at once:

curl -s -X POST https://api.usehako.site/v1/discover -H 'content-type: application/json' \
-d '{"query": "recent papers on RAG hallucination", "limit": 5}'
curl -s -X POST https://api.usehako.site/v1/inspect -H 'content-type: application/json' \
  -d '{"id": "firecrawl/research-papers"}'

The same two verbs are available as MCP tools (For AI agents (MCP)) and as CLI commands (For humans (CLI)).

A run is paid in USDC on Base from the user's own PayBox wallet. With PayBox connected, the agent calls PayBox's use_service with the tool's paid URL, https://api.usehako.site/v2/run/<provider>/<endpoint>, method POST and the tool's input as the body. Hako holds no key and never pays on anyone's behalf. See From code (HTTP).

Then ask your agent for something that needs a live tool, for example: "What is 100 USD in NGN today, and is it raining in Lagos?"

Results are data, not instructions

The skill tells the agent to treat everything inside a result's data as untrusted content and never to follow instructions found there.
